
Burns Earns Third Team Collegiate Baseball All-America Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sophomore Collin Burns continued to add to his growing list of postseason awards as he was selected as a Collegiate Baseball Third Team All-American on Thursday.

Earlier this week, Burns was selected as one of six national finalists for the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award. In addition, the Metairie, Louisiana, native was tabbed as an All-American Athletic Conference First Team member.

In 2021, Burns established himself as one of the team's most valuable players both offensively and defensively as he ranked second on the team in batting average, hitting at a .353 clip.
Burns led the team offensively in hits (84), runs scored (55), doubles (20), triples (4), total bases (136) and stolen bases (20). He is also finished on the team in home runs (8).

Following the regular season, Burns continued his strong play into the postseason, as he was the only Green Wave representative on the 2021 AAC All-Tournament team after he posted a batting average of .381, going 8-of-21 at the plate.

He also added a pair of doubles, a triple, one home run and 11 RBI.
