Volleyball Takes First Match at Home from Tulsa 3-0

NEW ORLEANSÂ -Â Tulane Volleyball battled for a 3-0 win over Wichita State, 25-14, 25-14, 25-17, on Sunday at Avron B. Fogelman Arena inside the Devlin Fieldhouse.Â

Tulane's 3-0 sweep was its fourth straight set victory of the season.

The Green Wave started electric and never stopped. With the win, Tulane improved to 9-5 and 2-0 in conference play. The Wave hit .324 in the match with 44 kills, 41 assists and 51 digs.Â

Anna Davis led Tulane for the second game in a row with 10 kills and hit .360. She also added one ace in her 13 points. Three other players had nine kills apiece, Yvette Burcescu, Lexie Douglas and Michelle Urquhart. Burcescu and Kayla Dinkins had 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Lexie Douglas followed suit with seven kills of her own.Â

Setter Taylor Henigsman finished with 38 assists and 11 digs. Henigsman has back-to-back double doubles to start conference play.Â

Dinkins led Tulane in the first set, as she finished with four kills and five points. The Wave scored first and never lost the lead inen route to a 25-14 win. Tulane hit .375 in the frame.

Set two was almost identical to set one. The Wave struck first with Urquhart's 20th ace of the year. The Wave would go on to secure a 25-14 win and posted an attack percentage of .364.Â

The final set didn't start off as aggressive as the first two, as Tulane trailed 4-1 to open the set. The Green Wave chipped away until they took back the lead 14-13 and never lost it again.Â

The Green Wave return to Avron B. Fogelman Arena inside the Devlin Fieldhouse on Wednesday to take on the Cougars from Houston. First set starts at 6 P.M. and will be aired on ESPN+.Â
