
Volleyball Takes on Houston and Temple in Week Two of Conference Play

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University volleyball team returns to action this week with a pair of matchups. The Green Wave open their week with a home contest against Houston on Wednesday and a road matchup at Temple on Friday.Â

Tulane meets Houston for the first time this season after the Wave took both from the Cougars last year. Although Tulane doesn't not hold the overall advantage in the series with Houston (18-34.) head coach Jim Barnes has a 6-5 record against the Cougars since his time Uptown.Â

Tulane was picked fourth in 2021 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll, returning nearly the entire roster from the spring 2021 season. The two competitors this weekend finish second (Houston) and sixth (Temple) in that same poll. After five weeks of play Tulane currently tied for first in the AAC while Houston and Temple claim spots four and 11.

AWARDS
The Green Wave picked up two preseason all-conference team selections in seniors Lexie Douglas and Kayla Dinkins. The Wave have also earned three AAC weekly honor roll selections in Michelle Urquhart, Anna Davis and Dinkins.
