Tulane Men's Tennis Opens 2021 Fall Slate at Mississippi State
Sep 30, 2021 | Men's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane University men's tennis team opens its 2021 fall schedule on Friday, as it travels to Starkville, Mississippi, where it will begin play in the three-day MSU Bulldog Invitational.
The tournament will feature a round robin style tournament with players from Michigan, Alabama, tournament host Mississippi State. The tournament also will feature players from Wichita State filling in to round out the remaining matchups.
"We have a very young team and the thing that we love is we've got a lot of great new energy and excitement," said head coach Mark Booras, who begins his 13th year in Uptown this season. "We have guys that really want to go and do something special. So we are excited about this year and we are excited about the future and seeing where we can go in the next four years, because we basically have these guys for another three to four years."
Tulane enters the 2021-22 campaign in the hopes of building off its strong season from a year ago where the Green Wave finished the year with a 15-8 record and earned their fifth straight bid the NCAA tournament.
The MSU Bulldog Invitational is open to the public and admission is free.
In the case of inclement weather, matches will be moved inside the Rula Tennis Pavilion. In association with a campus-wide mandate, masks are required to enter the Rula Tennis Pavilion
