
Tulane Women's Tennis Grabs Two Wins in Afternoon Doubleheader

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's tennis team is off to a 3-0 start to the 2022 season as it defeated Northwestern State University and Southern Saturday at the City Park Tennis Center. The Green Wave took both matches 4-0.
 
The duos of Mackenzie Clark and Kristen Borland, Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell and Adelaide Lavery and Brooke Theis got Tulane off to a hot start giving the Green Wave the doubles point against NSU. In singles play, Clark was the first to get a singles point, followed by Jiayun Zhu. Russell's victory clinched the fourth point giving Tulane the win over NSU.
 
 
Pairing up again Yelamanchili and Russell and Lavery and Theis got Tulane the double point in the second match of the day against Southern. Yelamanchili would get things rolling securing the first singles point, followed by Lily Walther and Cora Barber who clinched the match for the Wave with her victory.
 
Up next, Tulane will host Alabama on Saturday, February 5 at City Park Tennis Center. Play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
