
Kuenkler Drops in the Round of 16 at the ITA Southern Regionals

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Tulane University men's tennis junior Fynn Kuenkler came up shy of advancing to the quarterfinals of the singles main draw at the ITA Southern Regional Championships on Sunday falling in the round of 16.
Kuenkler faced off against Roan Jones from the host school of the tournament, Alabama, in the round of 16. The Bielefeld, Germany, native battled in the match but was unable to come away with a win as he dropped in two sets, 2-6, 2-6.
The Green Wave also had a pair of players competing in the singles consolation draw as Alex Bancila and Luka Petrovic each took the court on Sunday. Bancila picked up third win of the weekend and his second in the consolation draw defeating Georgios Nouchakis from UAB in two sets, 6-4, 6-2. Petrovic suffered a loss in a hard-fought three-set battle against Carles Anton from Troy.
Up next, Tulane will head to Lafayette, Louisiana, to compete in the Cajuns Classic hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette October 28-30.
