Green Wave Drops Second Match of the Weekend

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Tulane University volleyball team (6-13) dropped a three-set match to SMU (15-25, 16-25, 17-25) on Sunday.
The Green Wave offense hit .046 in the match, while the Mustangs countered with a .269 clip. Outside hitter Melissa Kolurbasi led the Wave with 9 kills, hitting .273 overall. The graduate student also landed four digs, totaling 9.5 points.

Libero Jillian Dits controlled the defensive duties with 16 digs, one reception, and an assist. Senior setter Kate Van Houten tallied 11 assists and eight digs.

The Green Wave posted 26 kills, 21 assists, 2 aces, 47 digs, 2 blocks, and a 26% passing rate.

The Green Wave returns to New Orleans next weekend for a set of matches with Tulsa and Wichita State. Tulane plays host to the Golden Hurricane Friday at 6:30 p.m. and The Shockers Sunday at 1 p.m. at Avron B. Fogelman Arena inside the Devlin Fieldhouse.
