Volleyball Drops Friday Night Match to Tulsa

NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane University volleyball team (6-14 overall, 1-8 American Athletic Conference) dropped a three-set match to Tulsa (17-25, 23-25, 20-25) on Friday.
The Green Wave offense hit .246 in the match, while the Golden Hurricane (10-10, 3-5) countered with a .322 clip. Outside hitter Melissa Kolurbasi led the Wave with 10 kills and hitting .273 overall. The graduate student also landed four digs, totaling 10.5 points.

Libero Jillian Dits controlled the defensive duties with 23 digs, one reception, and three assists. Senior setter Kate Van Houten tallied 29 assists and nine digs.

The Green Wave posted 40 kills, 34 assists, 5 aces, 58 digs, 3 blocks, and a 29% passing rate.

The Green Wave returns to New Orleans on Sunday for a match with Wichita State. First serve versus the Shockers is set for 1 p.m. at Avron B. Fogelman Arena inside the Devlin Fieldhouse.
