Cross Country Set To Compete in AAC Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The 2022 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship are set to take place on October 28 at Mohawk Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The women's championship 6K is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. (ET)/9:15 a.m. (CT) with the men's championship 8K to follow at 11 a.m. (ET)/ 10 a.m. (CT). Live coverage of the meet will commence on ESPN+ at 10 a.m. (ET)/9 a.m. (CT) with Kit McConnico and Arch Bell on the call for both races.
"This is a transitional moment in our program. Last year our pre-meet meeting was about how do we not finish last this year," director of cross country/track and field Adrian Myers said. "The math said we should, but how do we not. Fortunately, we didn't finish last. Modest beginning but one I knew I signed up for. This year, we are poised to be a Top 3 team on both sides. And when I say top 3, I mean anything is possible if we click. This is a transitional moment as we will be arguably the most improved program in the country."
On the men's side Tulane will look to Bradley Makuvire and Aaron Gilliam, both having placed first in meets this season.
On the women's side Mackenzie Callahan and Danna Diaz will look to make strides as the top competitors.
"What we do tomorrow sets the table for everything ahead," Myers said. "I'm excited for these young people to find out who they are on this course tomorrow."
