Tulane Baseball to Welcome ULL on Saturday for Fall Ball Exhibition

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team is set for the first of two exhibition games this fall, as it welcomes the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to Greer Field at Turchin Stadium on Sunday.Â

Tulane and ULL will take part in 16 innings of action with the first pitch set for 1 P.M. The 16-inning contest is open to the public and free of charge.Â

The Green Wave finished the 2022 campaign with a 33-26-1 mark and an 11-13 record in American Athletic Conference play – the nation's No. 5-ranked RPI league. Following the regular season, Tulane advanced to the semifinals of the AAC tournament. In addition.

Following the season, Tulane placed two players on the all-conference team, including Sophomore Dylan Carmouche who was the only starting pitcher in the league to be in a weekend rotation every series of the season. Carmouche's first-team selection came after he finished the year with 90.1 innings of work and 87 strikeouts.

In addition to Carmouche, the Green Wave also welcome back key returners Chase Engelhard (.249), Jared Hart (.226), Brady Marget (.290), and Jackson Linn (.353).

Earlier this fall, Tulane announced the addition of 19 members to its 2022 recruiting class.

Lamar finished the 2022 campaign with a 38-23 mark. Matt Deggs, is in his fourth season, as the head coach of the Ragin Cajuns. The Cajuns come into the fall after finding themselves as the third seed in the College Station regional. ULL's 2022 leading hitter Carson Roccaforte, who finished the year with a .374 average, also returns.Â

The Green Wave will take part in their second game of fall ball on Nov. 5 with a matchup at Nicholls. On Sunday, Nov. 15, Tulane will begin its five-game Fall Ball World Series intersquad matchup.
