Galic Earns Second Weekly AAC Honor Roll Selection of the Season

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Basketball graduate guard/forward Marta Galic was selected to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday by the league office. This marks her second time to be named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll so far this season.

Galic earned the selection after helping the Green Wave to a 1-1 record in the Cancun Challenge last week. She averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds to garner Cancun Challenge Riviera Division All-Tournament selection. Galic shot 43.5 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc in Cancun with seven made threes. She also averaged 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals.

In the game of the tournament Galic finished with nine points and nine rebounds as Tulane lost to Northern Iowa. She helped lead the Green Wave to a bounce back victory the next day against Central Michigan by scoring 18 points and hauling in 11 rebounds. Her double-double against the Chippewas was her third of the season so far. Galic knocked down four three-pointers in the contest and added three steals on the defensive end of the floor.

The Green Wave will be back in action hosting crosstown rival New Orleans on Wednesday. Tipoff between Tulane and the Privateers is set for 6 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
