Dec 5, 2022 | Women's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Basketball graduate guard Dynah Jones was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday by the league office. This marks her first time to be named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll this season and the third time in her career.
Â
Jones earned the selection after helping the Green Wave to a 1-1 record last week. She averaged 21.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in those two games. The New Orleans native shot an impressive 66.7 percent from the floor and from beyond the arc with six made three-pointers.
Â
On Wednesday, Jones was nearly perfect from the floor as she connected on 7-of-8 shots including 2-of-2 from downtown to score 17 points in Tulane's 90-37 win over New Orleans. She also added three rebounds, three assists, and a steal to her stat sheet against the Privateers. Jones stepped up to the competition again on Sunday as she scored a game-high 25 points on 56.3 percent shooting against No. 11 LSU. The 5-foot-9 guard drained four threes and scored 16 of her 25 points in a single quarter against the Tigers. She also tallied three more assists, two rebounds, one steal, and one block.
Â
The Green Wave will take the court again on the road Wednesday at Troy. Tipoff between Tulane and the Trojans is set for 6 p.m. from Troy, Alabama.
