
No. 15 Tulane Bowling Opens the Lady Techster Classic

DALLAS – The No. 5-rank Tulane Bowling team got off to a strong start at the Colonial Lanes Classic going an aggressive 2-3 Friday. The Green Wave knocked down 4,616 pins, averaging 184.6 per game. Tulane's day-one pin total places 5th of 12 teams.
Tulane put on an impressive performance in its first match of the day, beating Central Missouri 963-850. The Wave recorded its second-best individual game of the day against the Mules knocking down 199 pins in the opening game.
In match two, Tulane was outscored Vanderbilt 932-870. Although the Wave strung together a 194 pinfall in the final match it wasn't enough to break through.
In match three, the Olive and Blue found themselves trailing early, falling behind the 21st ranked Lincoln Memorial after the first game. The team demonstrated its resiliency mounting a comeback to claim the win 914-852.
Tulane faced off against in state rival Louisiana Tech in the fourth match. The match up went back and forth for most of the game, but in the end, Tulane would fall short 1,10-964
The team's record remained even at 2-2, the last of which came against Arkansas State. Despite the Green Wave putting up two 200 plus frames, the Red Wolves would win the affair 966-932.
Fifth ranked Louisiana Tech leads all teams with 4,928 total pinfall. The tournament host are averaging 197.1 pins per game. Arkansas State (7), Vanderbilt (4), Stephen F. Austin (8) and Tulane (15) round out the top-five.
Tulane will return to action tomorrow for traditional play. The teams will compete in five traditional matches on Saturday, and the cumulative pinfall from days one and two will determine the seeding for Sunday's bracket. Â
