
Tulane Men’s Tennis Set to Compete in the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic

NEW ORLEANS – The No. 48 Tulane University men's tennis team (3-4) will look to return to the win column as it takes part in the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Alabama Friday and Saturday, February 25-26.
The Green Wave drew No. 30 Middle Tennessee to open the tournament on Friday. Tulane will square off in a dual match with the Blue Raiders at 11:30 a.m. CT at Lagoon Park. Middle Tennessee enters Friday's matchup with an 11-3 record with wins in its last five matches including a win over No. 24 Auburn. Tulane holds a 6-2 advantage in matches against the Blue Raiders and is riding a three-game winning streak in the series. The last time the Wave and Middle Tennessee met, Tulane defeated the Blue Raider 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on May 8, 2021.
Depending on the result of its first match, the Green Wave will either take on the winner or loser of No. 19 Arizona or Alabama on Saturday.
The 2022 field for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic consists of No. 19 Arizona, No. 25 Auburn, No. 29 Princeton, No. 30 Middle Tennessee, No. 48 Tulane, No. 66 Nebraska, Alabama, and VCU.
Following the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic, the Green Wave will travel west to compete in the Arizona State Invitational from March 11-13.
