Track & Field Heads to ULL For Louisiana Classic

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University track and field team is making the short trip to Lafayette to compete in the outdoor Louisiana Classic hosted by the University of Louisiana Lafayette on Friday and Saturday.
The meet is the second outdoor competition of the season for the Green Wave. Tulane is sending 32 athletes to battle 17 other teams at the Ragin' Cajuns Track Complex.
The last time the Wave competed in the Louisiana Classic was in 2019. Tulane athletes won four events and recorded 18 top five finishes.
Freshman Abigail Heck made her collegiate debut last weekend at the Jaguar Invitational in Mobile and put on a show. The sprinter won the 400m dash and placed fifth in the 200m dash. Abigail will be following up her performance by running in the 800m this weekend.
Graduate student Kara Steele, junior Jing Ren, and graduate student Jordyn Lesh dominated the triple jump last weekend, taking the top three spots as listed. The trio will look to build on their success this weekend.
The field events start at 3:00 p.m. and the running events start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
The field events start at 10:00 a.m. and the running events start at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
