Tulane Men’s Tennis Squares Off With Top-Ranked TCU on Sunday
Mar 26, 2022 | Men's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS – The No. 64 Tulane University men's tennis will go for back-to-back victories over ranked opponents as it hosts No. 1 TCU on Sunday afternoon. The match between the Green Wave and the Horned Frogs is set for 1 p.m. at City Park Tennis Center.
Tulane enters the match with the top-ranked Horned Frogs with a 7-9 overall record and a 4-3 mark in home matches this season. The Green Wave is coming off a hard-fought 4-2 victory over No. 32 Tulsa on Friday.
The Wave trails the all-time series against TCU 2-6 and has dropped the last three meetings with the Horned Frogs. Sunday's match marks just the second time Tulane has welcomed TCU to New Orleans for a match. The Green Wave lost the only other meeting in New Orleans 4-3 on February 24, 2019. The last time Tulane defeated the Horned Frogs came on a neutral court in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 18, 2004, by a score of 4-1.
The Green Wave is led in doubles action by the pairing of Luc Hoeijmans and Fynn Kuenkler with eight wins on the season. In singles, Luka Petrovic leads Tulane with nine wins while Kuenkler holds the best record at 8-3 on the year.
Following its match with the Horned Frogs, the Green Wave will welcome No. 54 South Florida to New Orleans Friday, April 1. The match between Tulane and the Bulls is set for 1 p.m. CT at City Park Tennis Center.
