
Track & Field Excels at ULM Invitational

MONROE – The Tulane University outdoor track & field team made some noise at the Warhawk Classic hosted by the University of Louisiana Monroe last weekend.
The Green Wave put up nine podiums and 17 top five finishes in the impressive display.
TRACK
The Wave put in several top performances in the track events, claiming three podiums and eight top five finishes.
Tulane dominated the 800m, claiming four of the top five spots. Junior Victoria Robinson won with a 2:12.74. Therese Olshanski, Abigail Heck, and Turcotte took third, fourth, and fifth respectively.
Freshman Macy Turcotte took fourth in the 1500m with a 4:50.64.
Graduate student Kyah Loyd third in 100m hurdles with a 13.86.
Sophomore Bethwel Tum finished fourth in the 800m, posting a time of 1:58.60
FIELD
Nine Green Wave athletes placed in the top five and six took a podium in the field events on Saturday.
The Wave swept the women's pole vault podium. Sophomore Megan Fitzgerald and junior Nastja Modic finished tied for first with 3.62-meter vaults. Junior Kristina Leggas came in third with a 3.52-meter vault.
Sophomore Maren Butler finished second in the discus with a personal record of 43.58m.
Junior Jing Ren posted a 12.10m personal record in the triple jump, good for a third-place finish in the meet.
