Track & Field Competing in Four Different Meets this Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University outdoor track & field team will be fighting for podiums at four different competitions this weekend including the Drake Relays, the Memphis Invitational, the Kip Janvrin Open, and the Mike McMillan Twilight Invitational.

MEMPHIS INVITATIONAL
Outdoor track & field is back in the Billy J. Murphy Athletics Center as the University of Memphis is set to host its first outdoor meet since 2018.
This is a two-day meet with events on Friday and Saturday.
The action kicks off on Friday with the triple jump and will close with the 5000m. The first event on Saturday is the high jump and the finale is the 3000m steeplechase.

DRAKE RELAYS
The Green Wave is heading to Des Moines to participate in the Drake Relays from Thursday to Saturday inside Drake Stadium.
The meet will be aired live on the CBS Sports Network on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The Drake Relays is one of the most historic events in outdoor track & field and has been going on since 1910.
Thursday starts with the decathlon and wraps up with the long jump. Friday begins with high school track races at 8:00 a.m. and goes until the university level long jump at 6:15 p.m. Saturday will feature many high school events along with special Olympics and Paralympics races. The university level final events begin at 11:40 a.m. and run until 3:15 p.m.

KIP JANVRIN OPEN
Tulane athletes will be competing in the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa hosted by Simpson College this Friday.
Five Green Wave athletes will be competing in medium and long distances races.
The event kicks off with the long jump at 10:00 a.m. and wraps with the 5000m.

MIKE MCMILLAN TWILIGHT INVITATIONAL
The fourth competition that will feature Tulane athletes this weekend is the Mike McMillan Twilight Invitational hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. this Thursday.
Thirty Green Wave athletes will participate in the meet.
The meet will begin with the men's 100m dash and finish up with the women's triple jump.
