
Beach Volleyball Heads to CCSA Tournament

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Tulane beach volleyball is set to compete in the 2022 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Beach Volleyball Championship beginning on Thursday at the John Hunt Sand Volleyball Complex in Huntsville, Alabama.

Tulane will match up first against South Carolina in what will be their second meeting of the year. Haley Gibson and Savka Popvic were the only pair to get the victory over the Gamecocks.

Tulane enters the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed after posting its second consecutive 22-win regular season. The Green Wave's best CCSA postseason performances came in 2017 and 2018 when the team held a 2-2 record in the tournament.
This season saw the team pick up 10 wins at home that included victories against Georgia State, Nicholls, UAB, Houston Baptist, New Orleans and Southern Mississippi.

On March 15, the Green Wave cracked the AVCA Beach Volleyball Coaches Poll by coming in at No. 20; since then, Tulane has received votes in five of the six weeks of the poll's announcement.

With a win over South Carolina, Tulane would face off against No.1 TCU at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. With a loss, Tulane would take the courts in a redemption match at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
