May 23, 2022 | Baseball
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Two Tulane University baseball players were selected to the All-American Athletic Conference baseball team on Monday, as the league announced its 2022 postseason awards.
Â
Tulane sophomore Dylan Carmouche led the way for the Green Wave being one of five starting pitchers named first-team all-conference. The Denham Springs, Louisiana native was Tulane's only pitcher to start in every weekend series of the 2022 season. He tabbed a 4.06 ERA with a 5-4 record. In 14 starts with 82.0 innings of work he gave up 37 earned runs and picked up 78 strikeouts. He was awarded AAC weekly honors four times through the season and had six games with seven-plus strikeouts. Including back-to-back starts with double-digit strikeouts versus Villanova and Dayton.
Â
True freshman Grant Siegel was named second-team all-conference. Siegel started the season as a relief pitcher before finding his way into the weekend rotation. With a 7-1 record and 59.2 innings of work Siegel managed a 3.02 ERA. During the season the RHP found himself on the AAC weekly honor roll in back-to-back weeks after his performances against Dayton and Memphis.
Â
Tulane was the only school in the conference to place a starting pitcher on both the first and second postseason all-league teams.
