Tulane Cross Country Announces 2022 Schedule
Jul 27, 2022 | Cross Country
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University 2022 cross country schedule is officially set, with the Green Wave set to compete in four regular season meets this fall, director of cross country and track and field Adrian Myer announced Wednesday.
"This coming season we've undeniably increased the competitiveness of our schedule," Myer's said. "We wanted to better align our recruitment goals with our championship outcome goals for the years ahead."
The Olive and Blue will open their season on Friday, September 2nd, competing down the road in the New Orleans Opener at Lake Oaks Park.
Tulane then heads to the Lone Star State for the Rice Invitational on Friday, September 9th. On Saturday, October 1st, the Green Wave will be in Kentucky for the Louisville Classic.
"It will be nice to face some national class competition on a fast course in Louisville," Myer's said. "The Louisville Classic will be an excellent mid-season test for our squads."
Next up, the Green Wave will make their way to College Station, Texas, to compete in the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday, October 15th.
"We really wanted to take advantage of racing at Texas A&M which is host to the 2022 NCAA Regional Championships," Myers said. "The Barrios Invite will allow us to race most of our regional foes and hopefully bring home some bragging rights to Uptown before heading into AAC's."
Postseason action begins on Friday, October 28th, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the American Athletic Conference Championships. Followed by the NCAA South Central Regional in College Station, Texas, on Friday, November 11th. The NCAA Championships will be held one week later on Saturday, November 19th, at the OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
"This schedule best prepares us to move the needle here with our cross country program as we take aim on becoming an AAC championship program in the years ahead," Myers said. "We are a different program this year and our schedule will reflect that."
