Aug 9, 2022 | Men's Basketball
San Jose, Costa Rica - The Green Wave will leave Costa Rica undefeated as they celebrated a 78-49 win on Tuesday night.Â
Three members of the Wave scored in double figures with Collin Holloway leading the way for Tulane in just his second appearance wearing the Olive and Blue. He totaled 17 points, three rebounds and three steals. Jaylen Forbes followed suit with 16 points, two rebounds and one steal. Sion James had another all around game scoring 13 points, bringing down seven rebound, two assists and one steal.Â
After a slow start in the first quarter, Tulane got a spark thanks to a pair of dunks from Forbes who lead in scoring through the first quarter. Tulane stretched their lead 40-24 thanks to good ball movement and even scoring across the starting five.Â
The Wave kept up the pace and proved their cohesiveness as a unit, pulling away in the third 59-37.Â
The final quarter of the game was a show of talent off the bench. Oton Jankovic pulled out a windmill dunk that cleared the bench, followed by freshman Jake Shaprio's first points in a Tulane jersey. Sealing the deal 78-49 the Wave will return home from Costa Rica with a clean record.Â
