Tulane Sits Fifth at Green Wave Fall Classic

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane golf team's Cleo Liu and Carla Bernat posted two strong rounds of golf to put the team in fifth entering Tuesday's final round of the Green Wave Classic.
The Wave, on a 36-hole day, posted a 6-under on the day, improving from 288 in the first round to 282 in the second as a team.
Liu shot 2-under in the first round, collecting four birdies on the back nine. The junior shot her lowest round of collegiate golf, going 4-under in the second round. Liu sits tied for seventh (-6) going into the final round of play.
Bernat got off to a slow start in the first round, shooting even through the front nine. The sophomore put up a string of red numbers in the back stretch to finish the round 2-under. Round two was another card of two under , leaving Bernat tied for 12th (-4).
Matilde Innocenti shot 2-over in round one, only to go 2-under in the second. The Florence, Italy native shot 2-under on the front nine and even through the back to put herself tied for 25th (E).
Carlota Palacios and Sandra Vazquez rounded out the team's lineup on Monday. Palacios shot 5-over and while Vazquez shot 6-over.
Playing as an individual, Ruhee Pandit shot her first collegiate round of golf under par by going 2-under in the second round. She sits 1-over and tied for 32nd heading into the final round.
Miriam Emmert played a strong first round, shooting just 1-over but struggled with the back nine in the second and sits 6-over after two rounds.
Hanna Liu and Luna Xu also competed as individuals. Liu sits 14-over while Xu is at 21-over.
The final round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. tomorrow, live stats can be found here.
