Green Wave Opens Fall Slate at ULL Hidden Dual
Sep 15, 2022 | Men's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Men's Tennis will begin its 2022 fall campaign at the ULL Hidden Dual hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette Friday through Sunday, September 16-18. The matches will be held at the Lake Charles Racquet Club in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
"We are excited to get back into competition this weekend," Head Coach Mark Booras said. "We're thankful for ULL and Lake Charles Racquet Club for putting on such an exciting event. First-time event for us here and excited that we got invited to it."
"The guys have been working really hard the first few weeks of practice and they are excited to get back out on the courts," Booras said. "We'll have three other really solid teams there so it will give us a good idea of where we stand and what kind of work we need to do for the rest of the semester. We're ready to compete and looking forward to it. Roll Wave!"
The Green Wave boasts eight returners after landing at No. 7 in the ITA Southern Region team rankings in the spring season. Junior Fynn Kuenkler and sophomore Luka Petrovic highlight the returners for Tulane, each earning Louisiana Sports Writers Association honors following the spring campaign. Kuenkler, who also ranked 12th in the ITA Southern Region singles rankings, garnered first team LSWA recognition while Petrovic landed honorable mention selection.
Adding to the experienced roster of the Wave will be a pair of newcomers for the 2022-23 campaign in freshmen William Kesterson and Sam Scherer.
Following the ULL Hidden Dual, Tulane will be off to the Sunshine State for the Battle at the Beach September 23-25. This will be the Green Wave's first trip back to Destin, Florida, for the event since 2019.
