
Volleyball Drops Match to I-10 Rival LSU

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane Volleyball (5-6) lost a tough three-set match against LSU (19-25, 23-25, 18-25) in its second match of the day at the Tulane Invitational at Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
Tulane hit .170 in the match, while the Tigers countered with a .330 hitting percentage. Graduate student Kayla Kaiser led the Green Wave with nine kills, hitting .250 and tallying 9.5 points for the Green Wave. Senior Jillian Dits led Tulane with nine digs and graduate student Melissa Kolurbasi counted three blocks.
The Wave persisted in set one, earning an 11-8 lead and forcing a timeout. LSU rallied after that, posting an eight-point campaign to take and keep the lead. The set went final at 25-19.
Set two came close after a last-minute rally by the Green Wave, bringing the score to 23-24, before the Tigers tallied the next point to capture the set.
The third set was similar to the first - an early back and forth match until the Tigers pulled ahead by seven to bring the score to 22-15. Tulane answered with three points, but was unable to gain enough momentum to take the match. The final set's score was 25-18.
The Green Wave will return to Fogelman on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. for its first AAC matchup against the University of Houston.
