Tulane Splits for Two Weekend Tournaments
Sep 22, 2022 | Men's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Men's Tennis team will be split into two squads for a pair of separate events this weekend. One group of the Green Wave will travel to Destin, Florida, to compete in the Battle at the Beach while the remaining members of the Wave will make the trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for the Southern Miss Invitational.
The Battle at the Beach is set to begin on Friday and run through Sunday at TOPS'L Beach & Racquet Resort. Tulane will face competition from LSU, Florida State and Oklahoma during its weekend at the beach. Each team will have four singles and two doubles lines for each match with regular college match scoring. The format will be a round-robin hidden dual, so each team will have an opportunity to play each other.
Meanwhile, in Hattiesburg, the Green Wave will compete in the Southern Miss Invitational, hosted at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex on Saturday and Sunday. This will be Tulane's first trip to the Southern Miss Invitational since September of 2010.
Tulane had a strong showing at the ULL Hidden Dual last weekend to open the fall campaign, totaling 21 total victories on the courts. The Green Wave posted an 8-4 record in doubles and a 13-11 mark in singles during the opening weekend.
