
Volleyball Hits the Road for a Set of Matches

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University volleyball team will travel to Philadelphia and Greenville, North Carolina this weekend to take on Temple and ECU, respectively. Friday night's match up will begin at 6 p.m. and Sunday's will see first serve at 11 a.m.
THE MATCHUPS
- Tulane and Temple meet for the first time this season. The Wave swept both the Owls and the Pirates a year ago. Tulane holds an 7-6 series record against Temple and a 22-6 all-time record against ECU.
- Tulane was picked seventh in 2022 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll, returning only five from the 2021 campaign, while the two competitors this weekend were picked to finish 11th (Temple) and ninth (ECU) in the league.
- Mackenzie Martin leads the team with 128 kills this season.
- Kayla Kaiser leads the team with 20 total blocks in 13 matches this season.
- Tulane owns the AAC's fourth-best hitting percentage at .222.
- Tulane is seventh in the AAC in kills with 627, averaging 12.29 a set.
- The Green Wave is second as a team in service aces (AAC) with 79, an average of 1.55 aces a set.
- Kaiser is first on Tulane's roster and third in the AAC in hitting percentage at .348.
- The team total of 733 digs lands Tulane at fourth in the AAC and average of 14.37.
- Van Houten leads the team with four double-doubles so far this season.
