
Volleyball Drops Five-Set Match to Temple

PHILADELPHIA — The Tulane University volleyball team (5-9, 0-3) dropped a five-set match to conference opponent Temple (24-26, 25-21, 26-24, 22-25, 11-15) in Philadelphia's McGonigle Hall on Friday night.
The Owls improved to 7-7 and 1-2 in the league.
The Green Wave offense hit .243 in the match, while the Owls countered with a .208 clip. Graduate student Amarachi Osuji led the Wave with 22 kills, hitting .255 overall. The outside hitter also landed six digs, a block and totaled 22.5 points.
Fellow outside hitter Melissa Kolurbasi was right behind her with 19 points, 18 kills and a .173 hitting percentage. Kolurbasi also claimed two digs and two blocks in the match.

Libero Jillian Dits controlled the defensive duties with 28 digs, a reception and two assists. Freshman defensive specialist Annabelle He was also pulling weight on the back line with 15 digs and two aces. Senior setter Kate Van Houten moved the ball well, tallying a season-high 60 assists and 11 digs to grab her sixth double-double of the season.

The Green Wave posted 66 kills, 64 assists, three aces, 76 digs, eight blocks and a 34.9% passing rate.
Tulane will be back in action Sunday at 11 a.m. when it travels to ECU. That contest will be, once again, carried on ESPN+.
