
Volleyball Drops Road match to ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Tulane Volleyball battled hard, but fell just short to ECU on Sunday at the Minges Coliseum by scores of 27-25, 21-25, 16-25, 19-25.
The Green Wave didn't get off to a fast start but fought back to win set one by a score of 27-25 before dropping sets two, three, and four. The loss brings Tulane's record to 5-10 in 2022.
Melissa Kolurbasi led Tulane with 18 kills and hit .308. She also added an ace and a block. Amarachi Osuji and Kayla Kaiser had 15 and eight kills, respectively. Osuji also claimed 18 digs to earn her first double-double of the season. Mackenzie Martin followed suit with six kills of her own.
Setter Kate Van Houten finished with 38 assists and 11 digs to earn her sixth double-double this season.
The defense was spearheaded by libero Jillian Dits who accounted for 14 of the team's 69 overall digs.
The Green Wave posted 55 kills, 54 assists, five aces, 69 digs, six blocks and a 42.9% passing rate.
The Green Wave returns to New Orleans next weekend for a set of matches with South Florida and UCF. Tulane plays host to the Bulls Friday at 5 p.m. at Avron B. Fogelman Arena inside the Devlin Fieldhouse.
