Tulane Set for South Alabama Invitational

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane volleyball looks to keep its winning streak rolling this weekend as it treks to Mobile, Alabama, to compete in the South Alabama Invitation from Friday to Sunday, September 11-13. The Green Wave will play three matches in the tournament facing Georgia, Kennesaw State, and tournament host South Alabama.

The Wave enters the road tournament on a four-match win streak with a 4-1 overall record after going 3-0 at the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida, last weekend. Tulane defeated Duke, Florida International, and North Florida in the tournament.

Sophomores Charlee Solomon and Lauryn Mack both earned American Conference weekly honors for their performances for the Green Wave at the UNF Invitational. Solomon was named the conference Setter of the Week after totaling 115 assists with an average on 10.45 assists per set in the tournament. Mack picked up a weekly honorable mention recognition after leading the team with 36 kills to go with 31 digs and nine total blocks.

The Wave holds a 25-10 record against its three opponents in the South Alabama Invitational. Tulane will open the weekend against the Georgia Bulldogs on Friday at 2 p.m. before taking on Kennesaw State at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Green Wave will close the weekend against the tournament host South Alabama on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Friday's match against Georgia will mark the fourth meeting between the Wave and the Bulldogs. Tulane is 0-3 in the series against Georgia, but the two programs have not faced off on the court since 1995.

This will be the first meeting between the Green Wave and Kennesaw State on the volleyball court. Tulane holds a 21-22 overall record against current teams from Conference USA including a 10-8 advantage in neutral site matches. The Wave's 3-2 victory over Florida International last weekend at the UNF Invitational marked the most recent win for the program over a team from CUSA.

Tulane owns a 25-7 advantage over South Alabama overall and a 4-4 record on the road against the Jaguars. Tulane dropped its last meeting against South Alabama 1-3 in Mobile, Alabama, on September 13, 2025. The last time the Green Wave defeated the Jaguars was a 3-0 sweep in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 30, 2018.
