Mackenzie Callahan Wins the Mile To Highlight the Action on the Second Day for Track & Field at the Rod McCravy Invitational

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – Mackenzie Callahan won the mile to highlight four top-three finishes for the Tulane indoor track & field program on Saturday during the second day of the Rod McCravy Memorial at Nutter Field House on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
Callahan ran a 4:55.46 to win the mile and beat an Ohio State All-American that was in the field.
Maren Butler just missed a personal record (pr) in placing second in the shot put (14.50m).
Kara Steele set a new personal record in finishing second in the triple jump (12.49m).
Sophia McNerney finished second in the 800m with 2:13.11.
Other top-10 finishes for Tulane on the second day include Kaia Todd (triple jump – ninth – 11.20m), Reese Ragland (800m – fifth – 2:15.29) and the 4x400m relay team of Janae Dean, Callahan, Victoria Robinson and Alexis Esteves finishing 10th in their event by winning their heat with a time of 3:56.47. Norah Bice just finished being in the top-10 in her event in finishing 11th in the shot put with a personal record of 11.52m.
Next, the program heads to Birmingham, Alabama for the Samford Invitational from Jan. 20-21.
