
Volleyball Heads to San Antonio or an AAC Road Match-Up

The Green Wave will be back on the road Friday night when they take on UTSA in another American Athletic Conference-West Division match-up.
Game Notes:
This Past Weekend Versus Wichita State
Tulane hosted AAC West rival, Wichita State, this past Friday and Saturday.
The Green Wave fell in both matches, 3-2 and 3-0.
Friday's match was full of season and career highs for Tulane. Avery Burks, finished the match with a career high 24 kills and a .304 hitting percentage. . Mackenzie Mahr also had a career-high match finishing with 7 kills.
Setter Laura Fiabane also had career highs on multiple fronts in Friday's match. She set a career high in assists dishing out 46 as well as kills finishing with 6.
In Saturday's match, freshman Avery Burks had another dominant performance. She finished with 14 kills with a .448 hitting percentage.
Statistics:
The Green Wave prides itself on its defense. Tulane is third in the AAC in team blocks per set averaging 2.49 and fourth in the AAC in digs averaging 15.79 D/S.
The defensive front is led by middle blocker Sabrina Skyers and libero Lauryn Burrows. Skyers finds herself second in the AAC in blocks per set averaging 1.19. Burrows second in the AAC for digs per set with 4.54.
Burks is the go-to contributor to Tulane's offensive effort. The freshman currently sits at 5th in the AAC in kills per set with 3.41.
UTSA Matchup:
UTSA is 9-11 so far this season. The Roadrunners are 2-7 in the AAC which places them 6th in the AAC west and 12th overall.
Their two conference wins came against North Texas and Charlotte.
UTSA is one of the many newcomers to join the American Athletic Conference. Tulane, however, does have some brief history with the Roadrunners. The series record has UTSA up, 2-5 with the last meeting being in 2015.
