
Volleyball Set to Take on Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN- The Green Wave will be back on the road Sunday afternoon when they travel to Memphis, TN to take on Memphis.ย

Friday versus ECU:
Tulane fell in another conference match against ECU on Friday, 3-0.ย
Freshman outside hitter, Avery Burks, led the team offensively finishing the match with 15 kills and a .294 hitting percentage.ย
Freshman middle blocker, Jordan White, finished the match one shy of her career-high in kills with 5.
Defensively, Lauryn Burrows led the Green Wave in digs with 11 and Orsula Staka finished the match with a block and an assisted block.ย
Numbers Don't Lie:ย
Tulane is second in the AAC in team blocks per set averaging 2.59.
Middle blocker, Sabrina Skyers, is a large reason for Tulane's blocking prowess. The sophomore ranks first in the AAC averaging 1.31 blocks per set.ย
Graduate middle blocker, Orsula Staka, is fourth in the AAC rankings averaging 1.15 blocks per set.ย
Graduate libero, Lauryn Burrows, remains in the second position in the AAC in digs averaging 4.74 digs per set.ย
Graduate defensive specialist, Savannah Perry is ranked second in the service aces per set category averaging 0.45.ย
Freshman, outside hitter,ย Avery Burks is averaging 3.21 kills per set. which places her sixth the AAC.ย
Memphis Matchup:ย
The Tigers are off to a 5-13 start on the season. Their conference record is 1-5 and their sole conference win came against USF.ย
Memphis and the Green Wave have a long history as conference foes. Tulane leads the series 27-32.ย ย
Last season, Tulane and the Tigers faced off twice. The Green Wave was defeated 3-0 in both matches.
