Wave Sits Fourth after Magnus Invite’s Day 1

THURSDAY'S RESULTS
CLEVELAND, OH – Tulane piled up 197 team points and is currently fourth following the first day of competition at the Magnus Invite in Cleveland.
In Thursday evening's finals, the team achieved two lifetime-bests, seven Tulane-bests and 15 season-bests.
Diver Katie Lipsey placed fourth in the three-meter preliminaries with Paige McKenzie in 13th, Anna Behrman 16th, and Rachel Casebolt 20th. All four scored for the Green Wave.
Both A relays, the 200 Free and the 400 Medley, qualified for the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's National Invitation Championship (NIC). In the 200 Free Relay, Victoria Raymond, Riley Hendrix, Grace Dale, and Eleanor McMeen achieved an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:33.78. Then, in the 400 Medley Relay, Andrea Zeebe, Paula Gaya Bisquerra, Raymond, and Hendrix, took fourth with a time of 3:43.78. Both times align with the NCAA's Division I "B" cuts.
Freshman Gwen Shahboz's time in the 200 IM (2:03.04) is now seventh all-time in program history.
In the finals, Sydney Mullin placed fourth in the 500 free with her time of 4:56.15.
In the 200 IM, Zeebe notched an eighth-place time of 2:04.70. Quinlan Hinerfeld followed in 10th (2:05.44) and Natalia Strongyli came in 13th (2:05.76).
Raymond (23.58) and Grace Dale (23.72) placed seventh and ninth, respectively, in the 50 free.
In the morning session, Raymond recorded a 23.28-second 50 Free mark, good for the program's sixth-best time for that event.
Action continues Friday on the event's second day.
