Wave Finishes Fourth in Magnus Cup Invitational

SATURDAY'S FINALS RESULTS
CLEVELAND, OH – The Tulane Swimming and Diving program completed its consistent performance this week at the Magnus Cup Invite in Cleveland with a fourth-place showing (910 points).
Between the two Saturday sessions, the team posted 50 season-bests, 29 Tulane-bests and 19 lifetime-bests.
Divers Anna Behrman, Katie Lipsey and Paige McKenzie finished with a silver in a Diving Team Event, earning the team a school-record 253.20 points. McKenzie finished third in the platform dives with Lipsey coming in fourth.
Victoria Raymond took home the gold in the 200 Fly with her time of 1:57.41—setting a new meet record, Cleveland State University pool record, NCAA "B" Cut and program record.
In the 200 Back, Raymond placed second with a time of 1:57.11, a time that is second on the school's all-time list and was an NIC "B" Cut. Behind her, in third, was Quinlan Hinerfeld with a time of 1:58.80, a mark that sits seventh in Tulane's all-time Top 10 and was another NIC "B" mark.
Gwen Shahboz's 2:17.83 in the 200 Breaststroke checked in at No. 6 in the program's records (NIC "B" Cut), while Ece Tanriverdi dented Tulane's Top 10 twice Saturday (eighth in the 1000 with a 10:15.64; ninth in the 1650 with a 16:58.08). Both of those times were NIC Bonus Cuts.
The Green Wave's 400 Free Relay team of Grace Dale, Olcaytu Hatipoglu, Riley Hendrix and Raymond recorded a 3:25.04, a time that is now the program's 10th-fastest mark.
Natalia Strongyli (57.96) and Hatipoglu (25.14) both recorded NIC qualifying marks in the 100 IM and 50 Fly, respectively.
The team's next meet is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29 when it travels to Pensacola, Florida for the US Open.
