IRVING, Texas – Tulane's Marta Galic was named to the American Athletic Conference's (AAC) Weekly Honor Roll for the week from Dec. 18 – Dec. 24, the league office announced this afternoon.
In leading the women's basketball team to a 2-0 record and Tulane Holiday Tournament Championship, Galic averaged 21 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. She followed that up with 18 points and eight rebounds plus a block in the 64-61 win over Maine in the tournament championship game. For her overall efforts she was named the MVP of the event.
Galic has now scored in double figures in 10 of the team's 11 games this season.
This is the third time that a Tulane player has been honored by the league office this season as Kyren Whittington was named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll on Nov. 20 and Dec. 11
On the season, Galic is second on the club with her average of 14.9 points per game to place 10th in the conference. She is shooting 41.3 percent from the field to rank fourth in the league. Her free throw percentage of 78.9 is eighth in the conference.
Next, Tulane starts American Athletic Conference (AAC) play and travels to take on Wichita State on Dec. 30 at 2 p.m.
