Men's Basketball Takes on South Florida in Tampa

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane University men's basketball heads to Tampa to face the South Florida Bulls on Saturday night.

STARTING FIVE
1. Tulane University men's basketball sees South Florida for the first time this season. Tulane swept the Bulls last season in their two meetings.

2. Jalen Cook notched his fifth straight game scoring 20+ points last week versus Cincinnati(27pts). The sophomore also notched a career high 14 assists, which is a Tulane single game record and ties the AAC single game record.

3. Over the last five games Tulane has gone into overtime four times. Holding a 3-1 record with wins over Cincinnati, Memphis and Wichita State and a loss to Tulsa.

4. Tulane continues to have the highest scoring offense in the AAC averaging 82.2 ppg on the season.

5. Tulane is third in the country in free throw percentage shooting 79.9 percent from the charity stripe. Jalen Cook leads the team and the AAC
shooting .895 percent.

500 - With a 16-7 record and seven game left to play (counting first round of AAC tournament) this is the first time Ron Hunter will finish at least .500 as the Tulane head coach. Tulane hasn't finished .500 or better since 2013-14 (17-17).

• USF defeated Tulsa for the first time in program history on Wednesday night, 96-69.
• The Bulls' 96 points are the program's most ever in an American Athletic Conference game.
• Russel Tchewa, returning from an injury that sidelined him last Saturday, scored a career-high 21 points, falling just short of his fourth consecutive double-double (eight rebounds).
• USF's 50 points in the first half was its first 50-point effort in any half of an AAC game since January 2, 2019 vs. UConn (51 points/second half).

A WIN VERSUS USF
• Tulane would get its 10th AAC win of the season, tying their total from last season.
• Ron Hunter would be two wins away from 500 in his career.
• Tulane would get its fourth straight win over USF.
