
Indoor Track & Field’s Aaron Gilliam Places Sixth in the Mile at the Alex Wilson Invitational

South Bend, Indiana – Aaron Gilliam placed sixth overall in the men's mile for Tulane at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday at Meyo Field inside the Loftus Sports Center on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
Gilliam ran a 4:08.46 at the meet. He was only about four seconds from winning the competitive race. He was also just over four seconds from his personal best of 4:03.85 in the event set last week at the Music City Challenge. Gilliam was in the first pack of runners of the meet as he placed nearly nine seconds above the runner that finished just behind him in seventh at the race. His times in each split were 51.74, 48.39, 48.89, 49.81 and 49.65.
Next, Gilliam and the rest of the Tulane program will return to action at the 2023 AAC Indoor Track & Field Championships from Feb. 24-25 in Birmingham, Alabama.
