
No. 22 Bowling Goes 2-2 On the Second Day of the Stallings Invitational

Greensboro, North Carolina – The No. 22 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling team went 2-2 on the second day of the Stallings Invitational at AMF All-Star Lanes on Saturday in totaling 4,298 pins. The team were only able to play four games instead of the standard five against an opponent due to Tusculum pulling out of the tournament.
The program sits in sixth place in a very competitive field. Tulane faced off with three ranked teams on the second day.
The Green Wave posted a five-game average of 171.92. Tulane topped 900 pins in two of the five matches including a high of 919.
Tulane has a combined record of 7-2 in the first two days of competition with 8,863 pins and an average of 177.3 pins a game.
The program began the day with an 979-919 loss to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the first game. The second game saw North Carolina A&T tripped up the Green Wave 907-819. The third game was a close 846-845 victory over Coppin State. The Wave kept rolling in the fourth game with a 902-875 win over Lincoln Memorial. The fifth game officially counts as a bye although Tulane did roll an 812 over what would have been Tusculum.
Amelia Vasquez registered the most pins (965) and average (193.0) on the team. Overall she is placed 14th in average and has the seventh most pins.
Morgan Gitlitz bowled in all five games and has totaled 873 pins and an average of 174.60.
Sofiia Druchyna bowled in four games with 677 total pins and her average of 169.25.
Cassidy Williams bowled in four games with 676 pins and her average of 169.00.
Katharina Mente bowled in four games with 640 pins and her average of 160.0.
Mia Stolakis bowled in a pair of games for 307 total pins with an average of 153.5.
Yarelis Alvarez bowled in one game and rolled a 160.
The program has a single round of a traditional game on the schedule on Sunday against No. 2 ranked Vanderbilt to start the day in lanes 29-30. The team then enters bracket play and will take on seventh seed Coppin State in lanes 29-30. The team can get as high as fifth place or as low as eighth place depending on results.
