
Kristen O’Handley Earns NCAA Indoor All-American Honors In the Pentathlon

Albuquerque, New Mexico – Kristen O'Handley earned First Team All-American Honors by placed seventh overall in Pentathlon at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Friday with a school record 4,277 points.
It was her fourth time breaking the school record for points in the Pentathlon this season and her third time with over 4,000 points. She set three personal-bests at the NCAA Indoor Championship meet in the 60m hurdles, the high jump and the 800m.
She is Tulane's first Indoor All-American since 2016 when Lilla McMillan placed 14th in the 400m. She is the school's first-ever Pentathlon All-American. O'Handley is the school's first Track & Field All-American since 2019 when Rebekah Markel placed 14th during outdoor season in the pole vault. Overall, O'Handley is 38th Track & Field All-American the school has had either during indoor or outdoor season and the 13th woman to ever accomplish the feat during indoor season.
O'Handley started her day by finishing eighth in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best of 8.37. She then finished fourth in the high jump with a personal-best of 1.78m/5'10". O'Handley had her second-best shot put throw ever in placing 12th with a 11.62m/38'1.50". She placed 13th in the long jump with a 5.67m/18'7.25". O'Handley closed out her meet with a strong fourth-place finish in the 800m with a personal-best time of 2:15.05 to move up to seventh in the final standings
Next, O'Handley and the rest of the program start outdoor season on March 17-18 at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette.
