Tulane Settles into Second Place After Round One of Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After the first round of play in the Florida State Match Up, Tulane sits one-over par, good for second place behind the tournament hosts, the No. 12 ranked Florida State Seminoles.

No. 27 Kentucky is one stroke behind Tulane and No. 38 Kent State is three strokes behind.

Cleo Liu had the best card of the day for the Green Wave after struggling through the front nine. The sophomore was able to string together four birdies on the back half of the course to finish two-under par in the round and position herself in second place.

Carla Bernat finished one-under in the first round, tied for fourth place.

Sandra Vazquez was under par heading into the back nine but struggled on the final holes of the day to finish two-over.

Matilde Innocenti rounded out the Tulane scorecard having gone four-over on the day.

Miriam Emmert shot five-over and individual Carlota Palacios finished 10-over, rounding out the Tulane participants.
