
Bradley Makuvire Finishes 23rd in the 5,000m at NCAA East Regional

Jacksonville, Fla. – Bradley Makuvire ended his collegiate career by finishing 23rd in the 5,000m at the NCAA East Regional for Tulane's track and field program on Thursday in Jacksonville, Fla. at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Makuvire's placing in the 5,000m with a time of 14:07.92 was an improvement of 22 places from where he started the competition ranked. A total of 12 in the event qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas from June 7-10. He came into the race ranked No. 45 in the East Region in the 5,000m with his school-record 13:57.67 run achieved at the Raleigh Relays on March 23.
Next, Mackenzie Callahan competes in the 3,000m steeplechase at 4:40 p.m. CDT on Saturday. She enters the meet ranked No. 37 in the East Region from her school-record 10:24.50 run achieved at the Drake Relays on April 26. Kara Steele is the final competitor for Tulane on the weekend as she takes flight as part of the triple jump at 5 p.m. CDT. She is ranked No. 42 in the East Region in the event with her 12.72m leap achieved at the AAC Track and Field Championships on May 13.
