
Tulane Sits 11th in Open Fleet Race Semifinals

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – Tulane finished the opening day of the Eastern Semifinals in the 2023 ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship in 11th place out of 18 teams on Tuesday. The Green Wave sits 11 points outside of the top nine which advance to the championship finals after the semifinals are completed Wednesday.

The Wave was paced by its B Division team which completed the first day of racing with a total score of 49 through six races to land eighth in the division. Tulane four top 10 finishes including two in the top five behind the racing of Thad Lettsome, Andrea Riefkohl-Gonzalez, and Gillian Perrell.

In the A Division, Tulane sits 13th with 91 total points through eight races. Cameron Giblin raced with Perrell, Riefkohl-Gonzalez, and Brady Starck to record a pair of top five finishes on the water.

The Green Wave will look to climb the semifinal standings tomorrow to claim its spot in the ICSA Open Fleet National Championship Finals. The finals will begin on Thursday with the top nine teams from the Eastern and Western Semifinals.
