Golf Finishes Day One at Lady Paladin
Sep 22, 2023 | Women's Golf
GREENVILLE, SC – The Green Wave closed out day one of the Lady Paladin on Friday.
Senior Miriam Emmert led Tulane, recording an opening round score of 75. Senior Daozeng Liu and freshman Julia Sánchez Morales followed, carding a 76 and each recording two birdies. Juniors Matilde Innocenti and Ruhee Pandit rounded out the card for the Wave with a 77 and 80, respectively. Junior Luna Xu competed as an individual and carded a 79.
"Our short games hurt us today," said head coach Andrea Kaelin. "Too many shots were lost around the greens. However, we did great bouncing back after a rough start to the day. I'm proud of their fight and positivity today and we'll be ready to fight some more tomorrow."
The second round will continue tomorrow in shot-gun format with a 9 a.m. CST tee-off. Find live stats and scoring for the entire tournament here.
