
Green Wave Hosts No. 24 Florida Atlantic Thursday Night in Uptown

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball (10-4, 1-1) welcomes 24th-ranked Florida Atlantic (11-4, 1-1) into Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse for an American Athletic Conference showdown Thursday night. The Green Wave will look to notch its first win over a ranked opponent in 25 seasons and remain unbeaten against the Owls.

The game between the Green Wave and Owls is set to tipoff at 6 p.m. on ESPN2. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 104.1 The Spot with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the sixth all-time meeting between the Green Wave and the Owls with Tulane leading the series 5-0. Tulane holds a 3-0 record against Florida Atlantic at home including a 72-64 victory in the latest matchup in the series on February 26, 2014.

The Green Wave is 27-175 against ranked opponents since 1950 including a 17-59 mark at home. The last time the Wave defeated a top 25 opponent came in a 73-62 victory over No. 25 NC State at home on December 22, 1999.

In its last time out, Tulane dropped its first American Athletic Conference game as it fell 70-56 on the road to North Texas on January 6. Collin Holloway led two players in double figures for the Green Wave with 17 points marking his eighth game this season with double digits in points. He also added five rebounds while Sion James tallied 10 points which all came in the
second half.

At home this season Tulane holds an 8-1 record including a 1-0 mark in conference games. The Green Wave is averaging 92.8 points on 53.0 percent shooting from the floor and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc in Uptown this season. Tulane defeated Rice 84-59 in its lone home conference game so far this season on January 3.

Florida Atlantic enters the matchup with an 11-4 record overall and a 1-1 record in league play. The Owls dropped their first conference game on Saturday 70-68 at Charlotte. Florida Atlantic is 0-2 so far this season in true road games averaging 68.0 points on 42.3 percent shooting in
those two losses.

The Owls are led by AAC Preseason Player of the Year selections Johnell Davis and Alijah Martin scoring 16.8 and 12.7 points per game, respectively. Center Vladislav Goldin also adds 14.1 points and team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. Florida Atlantic was picked to win the AAC in their first season in the conference after finishing with a 35-4 record last season and reaching the 2023 Final Four.

Following the matchup with the Owls, the Green Wave will hit the road to take on Tulsa on Sunday, January 14. The game between Tulane and the Golden Hurricane will tipoff at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
