
No. 12 Bowling Ranked Seventh After Going 3-2 On The First Day At The Northeast Classic

New Castle, Delaware –  The No. 12 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling team started off with a 3-2 record and rank seventh overall following the opening day of the Northeast Classic, held at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware, on Friday. The team has 5,159 pins and had two of the highest pin totals of the season on the first day. Â
The team is averaging 206.4 pins per game and topped 900 pins in four of five matches. A total of 34 teams are competing in the Northeast Classic this year.
Tulane started the day with their best match of the season to this point in defeating Sacred Heart 1157-968. The pin total was the team's highest of the season that was topped later in the day. The individual game scores were 164-186, 210-201, 224-170, 260-215 and 299-196.
The Green Wave won the second match by a 1000-907 score over Wagner. The individual scores were 177-193, 229-181, 236-195, 161-181 and 197-157.
The program kept the winning going with a 1194-817 score over Bryant. Tulane's pin total became the new high score for the program this season. The individual game scores were 209-185, 182-191, 248-172, 276-118 and 279-151.
University of Maryland Eastern Shore topped Tulane in the fourth game by a 1048-861 score. The individual game scores were 153-256, 181-192, 196-203, 157-172 and 174-225.
North Carolina A&T defeated the Green Wave by a 1053-947 tally. The individual game scores were 175-181, 198-222, 188-237, 194-231 and 192-182.
The second day of the tournament, for traditional play, sees Tulane starting the day with a position round in the sixth match. In the second match of the day, and the seventh match overall, the program takes on Saint Francis in lanes 23-24. In the third match of the day, and the eighth overall, Tulane and Long Island square off in lanes 5-6. The fourth match of the day, and the ninth overall, sees Tulane and Merrimack competing against each other in lanes 57-58. The fifth match of the day, and the 10th overall, is against Morgan State in lanes 39-40.
