NEW ORLEANS, LA - Tulane Baseball, the defending American Athletic Conference champions, hit the newly-installed Greer Field turf inside Turchin Stadium on Friday for the program's first practice of 2024.
The Green Wave's head coach Jay Uhlman, along with outfielder Teo Banks, infielder Brady Marget and pitcher Billy Price also meet with the local media before the day's action.
Banks, who enters 2024 as the league's Preseason Player of the Year, hit .301 last season with 18 home runs, 46 runs scored and 51 RBI to help lead the Green Wave on a charge through the American Athletic Conference Tournament, where he was named the week's Most Outstanding Player. Tulane captured the title with a surge from the bracket's No. 7 seed and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament's Baton Rouge Regional. He also garnered second-team all-conference honors during the regular season. Banks also led the Green Wave in slugging percentage (.607) and total bases (133) en route to adding second-team all-Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) honors over the summer.
