Oct 19, 2024 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane sailing finished the first day on the water in Massachusetts holding a top seven spot in both regattas on Saturday. The Green Wave sits in fifth out of 18 teams at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Final and hold seventh out of 18 teams in the Oberg Trophy regatta.
Â
At the Open ACC Championship Final in Boston Tulane closed the opening day of races in fifth place with 52 total points. The regatta only completed seven total races on Saturday with four being completed in the A Division and three in the B Division. Kelly Holthus, Helena English, and CJ Ricci combined in the A Division to post 21 points and tie at the top of the division with Harvard. In the B Division, Christian Ebbin and Sabrina Anderson sit in 10th with 31 points in three races.
Â
Similar to the competition in Boston the wind limited teams to just three total races on Saturday at the Oberg Trophy regatta in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The A Division was unable to complete any races while the B Division finished two and the C Division completed one. The Wave landed seventh overall at the end of the day with 22 total points. Bobby Rielly and Claire Lewis tallied 20 points in two races in the B Division while Lola Kohl and Ellie Spearman finished second in their lone race in the C Division.
Â
Teams will be back on the water Sunday to complete competition in both regattas. Racing will start at 9:30 a.m. CT for the Open ACC Championship Final and 9 a.m. CT for the Oberg Trophy.
