Oct 22, 2024 | Cross Country
IRVING, Texas - Tulane cross country freshman Caroline Jeptanui earned her second consecutive honor as Women's Athlete of the Week, the American Athletic Conference (AAC) announced Tuesday.
Jeptanui delivered an impressive performance in the women's 6k at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals on Saturday, toeing the line at 19:05.4 to secure a third-place finish in a highly competitive field. She competed alongside top athletes like 2023 NCAA runner-up Doris Lemngole of Alabama, who took the individual title, and Florida's Hilda Olemomoi, two of the nation's best runners.
Her time was part of a historic race, where all of the top six runners broke the previous course record of 19:17.2, set by 2023 NCAA Champion Parker Valby.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Tulane women will aim to defend their title at the AAC Cross Country Championships, hosted by Wichita State.
