Volleyball Beats North Texas For First Time Since 1994

NEW ORLEANS โ Volleyball took on the University of North Texas today and defeated them 3-1, redeeming their September road loss to the Mean Green. The Green Wave had not beaten North Texas for 28 years but ended the streak tonight, winning sets one, two, and four to clinch the win.ย
The Mean Green swept the Green Wave the last time the two met on Sept. 29, but Tulane changed the course today, coming out of the gate with a first set win of 28-26. The Green Wave won the second 25-21, dropped the close third 26-24, but triumphed in the fourth 25-23.
Tulane also achieved 1000 team kills for the season, with Ava Derbes delivering the final blow in the first set. Derbes had ten kills during the match and hit an impressive .360.ย
Sami Jacobs once more led the team in kills, notching 17 and propelling herself onto the AAC kill leaders list, where she is now ranked tenth. Jacobs also performed exceptionally on defense, leading the team in both receptions with 41 and digs with 17. She is currently ranked seventh in digs and fifth in aces in the conference.ย
Avery Burks closely followed Jacobs on the offense with 15 kills; she also contributed three block assists and one solo as well as 33 receptions. Jordan White had four block assists along with one solo block.ย
Agata Beksha had 11 kills and hit .321, while Sabrina Skyers had four block assists and one solo block. Annabelle He dug 15 digs and delivered a team-high three service aces.ย
Zoe Rachow lifted 28 assists, now at 871 for her career. Katherine Crosley gave 24 to bring her to 406 for the season.ย
